China, 19th century Vertical scroll painting, in ink and light colors on paper, depicting peasants in rice fields, picking rice or carrying bundles. A title on the outside of the scroll specifies that it is an agricultural scene. A state store label specifies "Daoguang period". (Small folds and large break). Painting alone: approx. 89 x 41 cm Roller : approx. 139 x 51 cm Provenance : - acquired in China in the 1960s by a French amateur. - remained in the same family by inheritance. Expert: Anne Papillon
