Phan Cam THUONG (Phan Cẩm Thượng) (1957) 20th-century Vietnamese school The procession, 1999 India ink and watercolor on paper, signed and dated upper left left 100 x 80 cm Note: Born in 1957, this artist lays claim to the millennia-old roots of Vietnamese art, and distances himself from the Western influence of the Hanoi and Saigon schools of fine arts. He recently exhibited some twenty works highlighting traditional Vietnamese court costume, with the status of women as an underlying theme. "La procession" dates from his first exhibition in 1992.
